Seems like it was a bad idea to leave the engines in the car, right?

People will never learn. They get one car, one container in. Sooner or later stuff like this happens.

There was one other group of about 6 cars that was stuck in the Atlanta area recently , and I have heard of others in Florida , but no confirmation on that.

Don't illegally import cars , sooner or later, you will get burned.

It actually depends on how "friendly" the customs agent is and whether or not they x-ray the container.

Unlike the other large group that was a bunch of R32's, I think these are worth enough that the guy will ship them out rather than have them auctioned off (if he's given the option).

A couple really nice cars in that group...

What is the deal w/ the half rims used to keep the S15 on the tow truck bed?
http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...2/IMG_0063.jpg
Cheap way to move a car and all...

Interesting note. The engine bay for the S15 is red, while the car is white.

the half rims save room when shipping for more room, for the car on top of it or any other parts they want to put in there.

You'd think with that much money invested they'd do at least some research and realize that shipping a bunch of complete cars in one container is a very, very bad idea.

jeebus. it's a day's labor to yank the engine and tranny, hood, front fenders, trunklid, seats, doors, front and rear bumpers, put the car on four spare tires all different sized - the car will look like hell and will definitely pass as a rolling assemblage of parts.

i just noticed the midori sticker on the white car with the VCAM setup. this is the same car that Franz was pitching me on just a month or two ago. I strongly believe these 4 cars are ones that he bought for his customers. What sucks is that I believe that most of his customers put at least 50% down on these cars for him to bring them over.

Another reason I believe these are his is because he specifically told me that his outfit bubble wraps all the cars, and that they do not get taken apart to be brought into the US (drivetrain, suspension removed). I asked how him how he gets complete cars into the country and his response was this his customs "guy" works some magic.

When another one of his clients picked up the White Midori car, I was going to have him pick me up a Red R34 and bring it over in this very same container. I got a bad feeling when he wanted like 80% down from me and then I saw the same cars he was trying to sell me on Yahoo Japan Auctions and there was a pretty significant markup on his part, so I killed our deal and asked him not to contact me again.

Best decision I've made in a while!

And I belive that man that bubble wraps those cars was pretty pissed too at the end of the day.
