Default Airbag Recall for some Q45's and M45's

I had a flashng SRS light yesterday so I scheduled an appointment with the dealer.

I was surprised to find out there was a recall since I had not received any notification.

It was a quick repair where the dealer repaired a loose connector from the Airbag control module to the front airbags. Light cleared.

Default Airbag light

I had my airbag light on my 2002 Q light up about a month ago (July 2009). Replaced a sensor under Elite Warranty, no cost. No mention of a recall at that time. Makes me wonder.

mine came on abotu a year ago, not under warranty and no mention of a recall paid about $300 to have it fixed. I might have to go ask about it or see if I can get a reembursement.

For those wondering, I just had my SRS airbag light go into flashing mode. Dealer said no go on any warranty on my 02 Q. I did a check on the internet and found that if you turn the key so all the lights come on, don't start the engine, and wait until the airbag light turns off, but before it starts blinking, turn the key to the off position. Wait 3 seconds and do it all over again, 3 or 4 times. After those cycles, wait 5 or 6 seconds and the light does not flash anymore. I guess it resets it. Worked for me.

You should see if the recall was ever completed on you're car. If not you are entitled to it regardless of miles driven. It is a thirty minute fix where the tech permanently welds two connectors if I remember correctly.

I was told a loose connection causes the light to flash.
