I just put in the s15 BB turbo today, already in car mounted up, only thing i need to run the car is cut the opening for the hot-pipe so i can mount it as it's shifted towards the front of the car a couple inches using the Isis turbo adapters for using stock inlet/outlet on s15 turbo. everything is straight forward, but i got the oil drain flange for GT turbos as suggested and have the 5/8" hose.
The problem is the flange points straight down, and the position of the turbo now seems a bit lower (due to it being bigger than the t25) so the oil return/drain hose is now at a 90* bend and crimping the hose for the return when slide the hose onto the fitting on the block. Not sure how to remedy this. I'm going tomorrow to the parts store to see if i can find something else i could use. Just wondering what other people have done and could suggest. Didn't find anything doing a search.

Use the oem drain pipe/fitting off the t25 and slot the mounting holes out a bit.

I thought of doing that, so i took off the GT turbo drain flange and laid the T25 drain onto the s15 turbo, given the turbo's new location the T25 drain comes down too far it was like 1/4" or less away from the Steering shaft so any hose that could fit on there would be kinked and or rubbing anyways, i ended up using the GT drain flange and had a hose laying around the garage that fit and had a 90* bend, but it's a thinner rubber hose used for crank case ventilation, don't think it will hold up over time so it's only temporary, now the braided coolant line leading behind the head is leaking so i'll have to address that first but i think i just have to slide it on a bit further as it did get yanked a bit when removing the old turbo. Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you talking about this?
http://www.frsport.com/FR-Nissan-S14-S15-T28-SR20DET-Oil-Drain-Return-Kit--Turbo-to-Block-_p_3115.html It's what I used for my GT2871R. Make sure you position the hose far away enough from your steering shaft though. I rushed it and the steering shaft cut through my drain oil hose. |

thats a nice kit and would have made things easier, but not for 75.00. I'm using a rubber hose that is normally used on Crank-case ventilation, so i'm not sure in long term if it will hold up to the heat, but it's working great right now. I will continue my search for a reinforced/stronger rubber hose to use in it's place.

I bought the turbo/clocking adapter and parts from Enjukuracing, i guess they didn't have that kit available which is why they offered the GT turbo drain flange. I would have went the other way to make things easier, Does that wrap Around the Steering shaft or above it? It looks really long as if it would come real close to it. Nice piece but i'm already stuck with this one, i don't want to spend another 75.00 plus shipping, but if i cannot find a hose to fit in the next 2 weeks (don't trust the rubber hose i'm using for longevity) i might have to just go that route.

IIRC it's above it and just clears it. If you don't seat it in right and tighten it up, it can still rub the steering shaft.

The piece from Frsport clears just fine and bends twards the block fitting....only issue it has is squeezing the rubber tube in and clamping it properly cause there is like barely an inch of clearance between the block fitting and the drain fitting but that meens there is less free sitting tube carrying oil to crack or leak ect.
