Default Have money need advice!

O.K. its time to buikd my motor. I am looking to fully build it. Oil pump, rings, rods, pistons etc. But I don;t know where to start who to contact who offers what. So if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be well appreciated.

P.S. I want to use good parts but not spend an arm and a leg.

What are your goals how uch HP?

And what do you have already as far as upgrades?

You alos need to think about supporting mods, Trany, fuel system etc.

When your talking about RB's and doing it right it can cost and arm, leg, first born and maybe a kidney or 2 depending on the HP and your goal. Just speaking from experance.

one way to go is to just get an entire kit - most tuners seem to offer them, and they are complete to say the least. You could do an HKS or JUN kit for the internals, then Tomei's Neokit for the induction part. Add an ECU and clutch of your choice, get it tuned, and I'd say you'd be more than good to go. Don't be blinded by numbers - an 800hp Skyline has two modes - street cruising, and blinding acceleration, and nothing in between. Any 500hp Skyline will scare the pants off you on the street, with other cars around.

One other thing that doesn't cost a dime is an incredible amount of patience.

One are and one leg please. Thank you!

What are your power goals? That is most important. The RB26 can make 500ish wheel without refinancing your house. Pistons, rod bolts, HG, oil/water pumps, head studs. This is my planned pathway. Probably going with the neo kit for the rest of parts.

well i have already upgraded the turbos, i have an aem ecu that im finishing the maps on, downpipe, de-cat, exhaust...... So i am looking to be in the 600-700 hp range but only when i need to.... I dont even know if i need more because its going to be a track/time attack car.....i have my suspension setup but because of the beating its going to take i dont want to take any chances with the motor. so your basic internald i guess or what would be the recommended setup? i was thinking of getting this kit but i still need additional parts like oil pump and cams....

http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/836

so lets say i got this stroker kit. if anyone can pick out the other parts that would go hand in hand with this kit i'd appreciate it. im assuming hks cams, and an oil pump would be the next things id need but is there anything else?

Your looking at:

greddy deep sump and oil pan extion
1 N1 fuel pump
twin plate clutch
upgrade the fuel lines feed and return to -8
Front Diff

off the top of my head.

Thats just to build a good reliable base. You'll still need a few more things and you also have to realize alot is going to depend on your tuner.

An HKS or XS power pack to help with the ignition

Cams 260 or better

Depending on if you buy a complete motor or build yours, your looking at machine work to the block. Also your looking at port and polish the head.

Head studs: Arp's there about 140 bucks cheeper then the Tomei's.

Valve Guides because like Eric said the stock ones crack

And Axles

What size turbos are you running?
