Default Just got my 2007 G35 - Blue Slate!

07 G35 Journey
Blue Slate
Stone Leather Interior
Premium
Navigation
Painted Splash Guards
Cargo Net

I haven't had time to spend on taking many pictures and the sun was pretty bright that day. It really does show off this AMAZING new color for the 07's though. I'll add some better pics to this thread when I have the chance.

They hit a home run with Blue Slate in my opinion. It's classy, sporty, and aggressive in appearance. Just my opinion.

I just came out of a 04 G35 Sport - Fully Loaded and I can say that the 07 feels TOTALLY different to me. The car seems a little heavier in my hands and a bit more solid on the road...hard to explain really. Even the pedals seem a bit more solid and harder to push. I've probably borked the engine a bit by redlining it several times already...just can't freakin' help it. This car wants to move...very aggressive and full of muscle. It even looks like a new age muscle car with those massive dual pipes in the rear....growl!

I'm still getting to know her...one sexy *****!

The new feeling you have,is the redesigned chasis/suspension.I own a 2006 bmw 325.I have been test driving g35's for a few years know.I never really thought they were in the same league, untill the new 2007 g35.I test drove a 2007 g35 sport, and it felt more solid(that solid to the ground feeling)than it ever has felt before. You can tell, they put a bulls eye on the bmw 3 series. The engineers have revamped the suspension and steering feed back. The improvement to the interior is dramatic.I felt for the first time, that the g35 is truly a luxury sport sedan(not a nissan).I perfer the interior and exterior styling of the new g,to the bmw.I think the new washi-trim is ok,would of been much better to just have a nice brushed alluminum. The new layout is fantastic. The plastics and leather are much improved. The bmw 3 series is still in my opinion,a little more refined and luxurious.BUt the new g35,is a much better car for the money(and more room to boot.).My next car, will be a g35.My question to you is, did you also test drive a sport version.I would be curious to know,if there was much difference in the suspension, between your journey and sport model. From the research i have done,I don't see in the specs, that the sport model gets a sport suspension(unlike in the m models, there clearly is a sport suspension,in the sport model.)I am looking at getting a g35x next year.I am hoping the suspension feels really close to the sport version.

B. E. A. Utiful. I always wanted Infiniti to have a very silverish blue. This color would complement all of their cars very well. Wow just imagine an FX in this color.

CrazyJ,
Congrats, that is a beautiful color. Looks like you must be from Houston like me. How did you find Southwest to deal with?

Southwest Infiniti was no bull and I had a good experience. I was, previously, not so hot on them as their presentation wasn't the best in the world. I dealt with Clear Lake on my 04 and tried them again this time around. BAD NEWS....read this post I made here about my dealer experiences:

Thanks. I am about 4 months off from buying (waiting for bonus time) and I really don't have any preference for dealers as I haven't previously dealt with any of them. I live in Cypress so I am equidistant from the West Houston and North Houston locations. I had not heard any bad things about Clear Lake before your post, but I had heard that since there are only two owners for the 4 dealerships in town that getting a deal is sometimes a problem. I am assuming this early you had to pay MSRP?

I am hoping that 4 months will be long enough for some of the pent up demand to slow down such that there are at least some decent deals available. I am planning on trying to get some quotes from the other Texas dealers to keep the local guys honest.

Enjoy your car. It will be fun to start seeing some around town. I can't wait to get mine and start loading up that hard disk with tunes. I just wish it could copy mp3's. . .

I just want to give an update.I dest drove the g35x today. There is definetly a suspension difference between the sport and awd.In the awd,it allmost seemed like the ride was more harsh but with less steering feel and feed back. The handling not as good either. The awd car didn't have that glued to the road feeling the sport has. This is coming from a long time bmw driver. We tend to look at things like road feel, steering feedback & steering weight. We like that x factor.I think the g35 sport has it and the awd car does not. This is of course my personal opinion.By the way,the 330xi doesn't haver it either.

They had an identical Journey on the showroom floor at my dealer the other day when I drove the Sport. I would have loved a drive in a Journey, but they didn't have any for test drives. I'll stop by in a few weeks and see what I think of the J vs. the S.

But I have to agree on the color ... I'm not a blue guy, but that is a gorgeous color. Reminds me a little of the "steel blue" color BMW used to have.
