Big Smile Thinking of swapping my 05' 350Z?

I got an 2005 350Z with 13k miles and i was thinking of selling it to get a 2005 Honda s2000 with 20k. I need personal oppinions on reliability, resell value and which one looks better cause i like both.

It's your car... your opinion on looks should be just about all that matters. Deciding something like that based on an internet board is kinda silly.

As far as reliability goes... the S2000 is a honda... better track record than Nissan... you can find that in any auto report

If you want raw power and higher more affordable tuning potential then keep your Z...if you're a big guy keep your Z (i'm 5'11 almost 200lbs and they're tight)...if you need a trunk keep your Z

if you want balanced power/handling and expensive tunability get the S2000 (most parts are high dollar because they use expensive materials to save weight)...if you want quality and refinement get the S2000...if you dont mind having a hard top seperate from your car then get the S2000...if you dont mind dealing with snootyier owners then get the S2000

the Z may be an easier car to live with if its something you drive everyday, the engine may arguably last a little longer as well because its not as high strung as the F22C in the S2000...then again high-reving 4cylinders is hondas niche and they have proven to stay reliable if you keep up with the maintenance intervals.

I consider the Z to be a car that benefits with tuned parts like suspensions and small power adders like Ish's car for example...his car i would say is how it should have come from Nissan.

The S2000 on the other hand reacts very differently to performance parts, most of its power adders are focused on weight savings and rev happiness...and the parts prices add up really quick and often require extreme $$$ to get desired results.

Hope this helped...my roommate has an 05 and loves it but his first and previous car was a Saturn and he's more about the balance and engineering of the car than having the most power.

Well it has to pull an (near) additional 350 pounds of car fat as well

I chose the Z over the s2000 for many reasons... but looks I find do not go to either car entirely. I love the sexy aggressive look of the s2k... but I also love the simlistic functional form and long nose of the Z... a true sports car look.

S2000 loses me with the digital guages that look like something from the 1980s... but intererior quality is far better than the Z's

S2k I would think gets ya some friendlier mpg too.

i say do your best to hold on to the Z and make large payments as you have already lost a lot of its value, maybe use it on a trade for a newer Z or something else coming out in the next year or so.

I would say that the S2000 is an awesome car but every owner I have ever met has turned me off from really looking at the car -

I do like the high revving capacity, but the downfall of the 11.5.1 compression not allowing it to really respond to boost well - didn't comptech try a supercharger on it and they kept blowing up - at least Honda'tech showed a lot of them getting hurt badly...

thats funny, I'm selling my S2000 for a Z... Owned my S for 3 years and I'll do it all over again... Tracked it, daily driver, and loved every second of it... Sadly they are becoming a hot car in Orlando, someone slashed my top and I dont want it to go over that, so hopefully the car will be sold this week with a 05 Black 350z with 11k miles in my stable...
