Default Painted Calipers with Infiniti Decals Installed

So after a bit of research, I decided to paint my brake calipers. Went back and forth between G2, Duplicolor, and VHT spray paint.

Called up a local body shop and he preferred working with spray paint. So after some consultation with this board I bought 2 cans of Red VHT Caliper Paint at Napa Auto Parts:

http://www.vhtpaint.com/caliperpaint.html

and one can of Duplicolor Engine Enamel Clear for clearcoating after the decals would go on.

Purchased myself a few reflective decals on eBay for $15.

Brought it in early morning and it was ready by noon. He put 5 coats for the calipers and 3 coats for clear coating. The VHT drys quickly so it needs to be applied all within 1 hour.

Cost me $35/caliper, about $20 in paint, and $15 for the decals.

Here are the pics. I guess it would've been even nicer if I had the Sport wheels, but that's what we have to deal with living in snowy Northeast.

Enjoy!

Been wanting to do this but didn't know if it would look as sweet with the stock calipers. Obviously it does and you just saved me about $2000 from going all out with the racing calipers & rotors.

THANK YOU!!!!!

Sure, anytime. Here's a YouTube link that shows how to do it. That's what the guy at the body shop essentially did. 5 coats of VHT Caliper Paint, and the 3 coats after the decals went on of Duplicolor Clear Engine Enamel.

I did that ages ago. Not that I'm slamming your work but you should have taken a dremel to the brakes first. I spent about 8 hours and two days smoothing the brakes so they were completely flat. Then I put on about 10 coats of paint. They came out perfectly smooth. Of course I don't have the car anymore
wow, haven't been on this board in a long time. Better update my sig.

Send an email to:

You should get the reflective ones, they look cool at night!

This was the original listing, but I didn't get these as they were not reflective. I got my reflective ones for $15.

Where did you have this done? What part of the North East are you from, as I would like to have this done, seems inexpensive enough.....

Pearl River, NY. You should be able to do this in any local body shop. They are good at spray painting at body shops that fix accident cars. Just buy the VHT paint at any auto supplies store (NAPA, Autozone, etc.) and call them up.
